A dreadful appointment. The doctor paid absolutely no attention to what I told him about my symptoms. I told him about the depression and urge to self harm that I experience prior to me period, to which he responded 'Its all in your head.' I was sent for an ultrasound, and apparently he didn't bother to give the diagnostician any instructions on what to look for, as she asked me what she was supposed to be doing. I don't believe he ever had any intention of treating me. The doctor was rude, dismissive and unhelpful. I would recommend an appointment with literally anyone else. I have since seen a consultant who listened to my issues, and will soon be undergoing treatment to help with my gynaecological issues.

I had 2 or 3 clinic appointments with Mr Osama Abu Ghazza in his gynae department. I found him to be very personable, approachable and helpful. He was interested in me as a person and not just as a “case”. He has a gentle sense of humour. Upon examining me he was thoughtful, gentle, and treated me with dignity. He clearly explained the various options by which I could be treated and started me on the first that morning. Unfortunately although I persevered with this treatment it wasn’t enough & I had the next stage. This too didn’t really help’ although I could understand that it could be of help. Some 20 years or so ago I had a hysterectomy. A lot of my problems were as the result of difficulties in childbirth and the surgery. Mr Abu Ghazza agreed to perform a repair operation on me. I had this surgery last week (2/3/2020) at the RSCH. obviously I don’t remember anything about the surgery itself I did meet the doctor on his way to theatre. It was reassuring to recognise him & receive a cheery smile. He obviously has a good rapport with his team, and although I am still in the early days of recovery it feels like he has done a good job on my operation. I look forward to feeling much better very soon. Thank you Doctor. I was fortunate that I was moved to the Nuffield hospital from Recovery, albeit for only a matter of hours. Mr Abu Ghazza’s registrar came to see me to tell me what they had done in surgery, which was reassuring, especially as it had gone better than expected. My only complaint (& that was not about the doctor) was that I felt it was too early to send me home shortly before 24hours after surgery. I didn’t feel well enough.
